You Survived Your First Half Term!

Well done 7S. You made it. On the way you have learned about:
  • Climates
  • Map work
  • The Buddha
  • Castles
You have also developed some really important skills to help you survive as a learner:
  • Effective listening
  • Making decisions (Thinking Hats)
  • Organising information (mind maps)
  • Researching
  • Communicating
Good job! Don't forget to use the links on the right to brush up on some of these skills (The mapzone website is great fun for developing your map skills).

Next we are looking at Cornish Past. What would you like to know more about? Competition time! Who can come up with the most interesting question(s) about the past in Cornwall. Don't forget to leave your name.

What kind of person do you want to be?

First of all - good work on learning how to create mindmaps. You can look at more mindmaps on the links section of this page. It takes you to a site by Tony Buzan - the man who created mindmapping.

If you want to find out more about the life of Siddartha Gotama (The Buddha) have a look at this site; it's a cartoon strip telling his story.

Sometimes there are things we can learn from other people's beliefs even if we don't share their beliefs. Many Buddhists want to become like the Buddha so they remind themselves of what he did in his life and the qualities he showed.

What kind of person do you want to be? Try this exercise. Imagine it is your 80th Birthday party. All your friends and family are there and they are looking back on your life. What things do you hope they are saying about you?

I've left a comment so that you have an idea.

Happy Blogging.
